Warranty Policy
At LivingStyles, we carefully curate a wide range of furniture and homewares designed for everyday use. All products are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use, unless otherwise stated.
This policy outlines the general warranty terms applicable across all product categories.
1. Warranty Periods
Warranty periods vary by product and are clearly stated on each individual product page.
Customers should refer to the relevant product listing for the exact warranty duration applicable to each item.
2. General Warranty Coverage
Our warranty applies to genuine manufacturing defects only. Depending on the product type, covered defects may include:
- Structural failure of frames, joints, or supports
- Broken or defective internal components (e.g. springs, coils, mechanisms, gas lifts)
- Faulty stitching, seams, zippers, or upholstery construction
- Defects in electrical components (e.g. lighting wiring or fittings)
- Manufacturing faults in finishes, coatings, or surfaces
- Warping, cracking, or splitting due to production defects
- Defective hardware, fittings, drawer runners, hinges, or installation components
- Damage on arrival (transit damage) reported within the required timeframe
3. What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not cover issues arising from misuse, environmental factors, or improper handling, including:
- Normal wear and tear, ageing, or gradual deterioration
- Changes in personal preference (e.g. comfort, colour, texture, firmness)
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or incorrect assembly/installation
- Damage occurring during customer handling, movement, or transportation of the goods after delivery has been completed
- Stains, spills, or soiling (especially for upholstered, rug, and soft furnishings)
- Damage resulting from improper care, cleaning, or maintenance, including the use of unsuitable cleaning products or failure to follow care instructions
- Use of products outside their intended purpose
- Incompatible installation, support, or electrical setup
- Environmental exposure such as sunlight, moisture, heat, or salt air
- Natural variations in materials such as timber grain, marble veining, fabric texture, or dye lot differences
- Insignificant minor variations in product dimensions, colour, grain, or finish
- Damage to external packaging or product packaging materials only, where the product itself is not affected
4. Category-Specific Conditions
Furniture
Covers structural and manufacturing defects only:
- Includes frames, legs, joints, shelving, drawers, cabinets, bed bases, and internal support structures
- Covers functional components such as drawer runners and hinges where applicable
- Does not cover comfort preference or natural material movement
- Upholstery wear, softening, creasing, or patina over time is considered normal
- Minor movement, expansion, or contraction of natural materials is not considered a defect
- Cosmetic wear and tear from regular use is not covered
Sofas & Upholstered Seating
Sofas and upholstered seating are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
Warranty coverage is typically divided into different components. The warranty period for each component may vary by product and is clearly stated on the product page.
Warranty Components (as applicable per product):
- Frame / Structural Warranty – covers internal frame, joints, and load-bearing structure
- Foam & Cushion Warranty – covers cushions, foam, and filling materials against abnormal collapse or manufacturing defects
- Recliner / Motion Mechanism Warranty – covers recliner systems, motors, and moving parts against mechanical failure
- Fabric / Leather Upholstery Warranty – covers stitching, seams, and upholstery materials against manufacturing defects
Covered Defects:
- Structural frame failure
- Excessive sagging or loss of support beyond normal tolerance
- Broken or defective springs, webbing, or support systems
- Manufacturing defects in cushions, foam, or fillings
- Faulty stitching, seams, or upholstery construction
- Defective reclining or modular mechanisms (where applicable)
Not Covered:
- Normal wear and tear, including gradual softening of cushions or fabric wear
- Changes in comfort preference
- Fabric pilling, creasing, or natural softening over time
- Stains, spills, pet damage, or soiling (may void warranty eligibility)
- Damage caused by misuse or improper use
- Incorrect assembly or use on unsuitable surfaces
- Natural fabric variations and shading differences
Mattresses & Bedding
Mattresses are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
Covered Defects:
- Visible sagging or body impressions exceeding manufacturer tolerance (typically 2–4 cm, measured without weight)
- Broken or defective springs or coils
- Foam splitting, cracking, or structural breakdown
- Faulty stitching, seams, or zipper defects
Not Covered:
- Normal wear and tear
- Changes in comfort preference
- Body impressions within acceptable tolerance
- Damage caused by misuse, bending, jumping, or improper handling
- Stains, spills, or moisture damage (may void warranty eligibility)
- Use of an unsuitable or unsupported bed base
Lighting
- Covers electrical faults, wiring defects, and structural failure
- Excludes bulb failure, incorrect installation, or incompatible dimmers unless specified
- Must be installed according to safety requirements and regulations where applicable
Rugs & Floor Coverings
- Covers manufacturing defects such as stitching faults or backing separation
- Excludes shedding, flattening, pile wear, and fading from sunlight or cleaning
- Minor variations in size, weave, and colour are normal
Kitchenware
- Covers manufacturing faults such as cracks, handle defects, or structural failure
- Excludes chips, breakage from impact, overheating misuse, or dishwasher damage unless stated
- Normal wear and tear from regular use is not covered
Homewares
Covers manufacturing defects such as structural failure, faulty assembly, or material defects:
- Includes items such as mirrors, vases, decorative objects, cushions, throws, and similar accessories
- Does not cover accidental breakage after delivery
- Does not cover fading, ageing, or general wear and tear
- Does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper handling, or incorrect installation (including wall mounting)
- Natural variations in colour, texture, finish, or materials are not considered defects
Outdoor Furniture
- Covers structural and manufacturing defects only
- Excludes fading, rust from environmental exposure, mould, and weather-related damage
- Must be used and maintained according to care instructions
- Outdoor furniture is weather-resistant unless otherwise stated and is not fully weatherproof
Office Furniture & Mechanisms
- Covers mechanical components such as gas lifts, wheels, hinges, and adjustment systems
- Excludes damage from overloading, misuse, or incorrect assembly
- Commercial use may have separate warranty terms where specified
5. Warranty Conditions
To maintain warranty validity, customers must:
- Use products for their intended residential purpose
- Follow all assembly, installation, and care instructions
- Ensure proper support structures (e.g. suitable base, level flooring, correct fittings)
- Keep products clean and free from stains or damage where applicable
- Retain proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation)
Failure to comply may result in warranty claims being declined.
6. Warranty Claims Process
If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect:
- Contact our customer support team with your order details
- Provide clear photos and a description of the issue
- Our team will assess the claim in line with manufacturer guidelines
- If approved, the product may be repaired, replaced, or otherwise resolved at the manufacturer’s discretion
Additional inspection or information may be required before a final decision is made.
LivingStyles acts as a facilitator of manufacturer warranties, and all warranty outcomes are determined in accordance with the respective manufacturer’s warranty terms and assessment.
