What is a space heater?
A space heater is used to warm a small area such as a living room, bedroom or office. They’re generally less expensive to run than aircon heating. There are multiple kinds of space heaters, such as:-Radiant heaters
-Convection heaters
-Tower heaters
-Oil heaters
-Fan heaters
Generally speaking, heaters come in either gas or electric, which means they’re either connected to a gas line or LPG cylinder, or to the wall in a power socket.
Different types of fans for home
There are many different types of fans on the market, but here the four most common:Ceiling fans: As the name suggests, these fans are installed into your ceiling by a technician.
Exhaust fans:
Found in bathrooms, these fans provide ventilation and can help reduce the vapour that causes mould.Wall fans:
Installed into walls rather than the ceiling, these fans are smaller but usually quite powerful.Pedestal & floor fans
: These fans are portable and most effective in smaller rooms. How much electricity does a fan use?
When compared to air conditioning, fans of all kinds use very little power. Ceiling fans are incredibly energy efficient, and work out to cost around 0.5c an hour, with price varying with the speed of the fan and where you live. Portable pedestal fans may cost somewhere between 1c and 2c an hour to run, with costs again varying depending on the circumstances.
In a typical summer, you might pay around $30 in cooling costs with a fan.
