What are the strongest smelling candles?
Candles can be made from many different types of wax, and two of the most common are paraffin and soy. Paraffin candles are regarded as the best at carrying scents, but they burn slightly faster than soy candles. Some candles will naturally have stronger smells due to the nature of the fragrance. A sweet vanilla candle, for example, might carry a stronger scent than something floral or woody.
Another factor will be how many wicks a candle has. The more wicks, the faster the wax will melt, releasing more fragrance into the air.
Different types of candles
There are many different types of candles that serve different functions, including:Scented candles: Create a relaxing atmosphere with a scent of your choice.
Unscented candles: Use unscented candles in dining areas or small spaces.
Tea lights: Add a romantic ambience to an indoor or outdoor space with tealights.
Pillar candles: Pillar candles are often used in formal dining spaces or for special occasions.
Wood wick candles: Enjoy the sound of wood crackling with a slow burning wood wick candle.
Citronella candles: Repel pesky insects when sitting outside.
Are candles toxic?
For the most part, candles are non-toxic and safe for indoor and outdoor use. In the past, candle wicks have included a lead core, which were said to release carcinogens into the home, but these have mostly been phased out.Scented candles are the only type of candle that may pose a risk to those with allergies or age-related sensitivities. People with asthma should avoid prolonged exposure of strong scents.
