Finding the right fit for your space
At 150cm, your room should be at least 320cm long and 270cm wide to allow comfortable walkway clearance on all sides - roughly 90-100cm around the table so dining chairs can pull in and out freely. In apartments or compact dining nooks, this size still works well, especially in a round format where there are no corners to navigate and traffic flows more naturally around it.
Round vs rectangular
Your room shape is usually the best guide. A rectangular 150cm table suits longer, narrower rooms and creates a strong visual anchor in a dedicated dining space. A round table works better in squarish rooms and open-plan areas, and puts everyone face-to-face so conversation flows easily. If you want a middle ground, check out our oval dining tables.
FAQs
How many people does a 150cm dining table seat?
At 150cm, you're looking at a comfortable six-seater whether you go rectangular or round. On a rectangular table that works out to around 60–65cm per person along the long sides plus a seat at each end. On a round table at 150cm diameter, six people sit evenly spaced with a little elbow room to spare. If you'll regularly host more people, it's worth considering a 180cm dining table or one of our extendable dining tables so you've got flexibility when you need it.
Can I fit a 150cm dining table in an apartment?
Yes, it's one of the most apartment-friendly sizes available. A round 150cm table is especially well suited to compact or open-plan spaces since there are no corners to navigate and it tends to feel lighter in the room. Just make sure you have at least 90cm of clearance on all sides for comfortable movement.
